CheddaClick

  • it's a cheese clicker. it's more-ish. you've been warned.

So it's a clicker. About cheese. You probably worked that out from the name.

Here's the thing though – it gets its hooks in. Click fast enough and the combo multiplier starts stacking, your score does something silly, and before you know it you're refreshing the weekly board to see if anyone's knocked you off it yet. I built it in Godot 4 and then couldn't stop playing my own game, which I'm choosing to read as a good sign.

Fair warning: more-ish.

How to play

  • Tap or click the cheese to rack up points
  • Keep the clicks coming fast – combos build a score multiplier, but go quiet for a beat and it resets on you
  • Make it through all 15 levels before the clock runs dry
  • Clicking empty space costs you time, so, you know, actually hit the cheese (revolutionary advice)
  • Achievements are hiding all over the place – clicks, combos, scores, speed. Go dig them out.

What you get

  • Global leaderboards – weekly and all-time
  • 13 achievements, all cheese-themed (a couple are genuinely mean)
  • Player profiles that actually remember your stats between sessions
  • Sign in with Google or Apple, or skip all that and play anonymously – up to you
  • Plays anywhere – any browser, desktop or phone, nothing to install

A bit of behind-the-scenes

The leaderboards, achievements and profiles all run on CheddaBoards – a free, serverless backend I've been building for indie games. CheddaClick is honestly half a real game and half me putting my own tech through its paces in public.
